A System for Visualization and Summarization of Omnidirectional Surveillance Video

چکیده

In this paper, we propose a media system, named OVISS, which visualizes and summarizes the longterm omnidirectional surveillance video to a viewer. OVISS is capable of visualizing the omnidirectional video given from a vision sensor, called HyperOmni Vision, with 360 degrees view field, by coordinating temporal and spatial representation. The representation media of OVISS is a time line showing the temporal interval when the event happened as well as a spatial map showing the location where the event happened. This system is characterized by 1) event detection through collaborative analysis of video and audio, 2) event based spatio-temporal indexing, 3) at-a-glance visualization that makes it easy to understand the temporal and spatial relations of events, and 4) video summarization for each area or for each event. The basic experimental results show that OVISS is potentially useful for surveillance applications.
